i'm back for more stupid fun

Hey everybody, i'm back after a long vacation! I decided that a new cartoon every day is WAY to much, so i'm going to go weekly. That will be very easy for me to keep up with. For those of you who haven't been to the meeting the past year or two, I'll let you in on this weeks cartoon. The cover looks alot like the new book released at last years convention. I think my title says more about what the book is really all about. Hope everyone out there in cyberspace is ok. Stay tuned in for next weeks adventure.

Mix it up

I think it's fun to put two differant ideas togeather that we think may be in harmony but totally are not. God loves the world but will only save Jehovahs Witnesses? I never could understand the logic behind this idea. God sent his son so that those in the world could LIVE! The Watchtower allways goes back to Old Testament times to gather up the idea that Gods judgement on the world would only be for a select group. I guess some people like the idea of God killing everyone. Oh well...

I find it sad

When I first agreed to a Bible study with Jehovahs Witnesses I wanted to learn more about their religion. Things they said challenged certain beliefs I had held all my life and made me want to examine the scriptures for myself. I find it sad that the basic principles that where so encouraged when I began studying are seen as a lack of faith AFTER you have been baptized. Things such as the 1919 selection of the anointed by Christ seem so imaginative and out of touch with Christianity. But the initial excitement pushes all debate far away, until one day when the novelty wears off you realize that you have become a member of just another self absorbed religion.

More Literal Fun

What I have enjoyed most is seeing how the most symbolic of verses in the Bible can be turned into "proof" that it teaches we will all reside on the earth forever. You would be hard pressed to simply find one chapter, one paragraph that speaks of such things. The Bible writers tell us of the hope of everlasting life. Jesus, Paul and the other Christian writers give us a little more info. But do we have to know everything? With so much left unanswered in the pages of the Bible we should take Gods promise of everlasting life with faith. And by the way, didn't God purpose for these animals to kill and eat one another? What about the FOOD CHAIN! I guess we have to take the Bible literally, because thats the right way to do it.

My Favorite Rumor

I came into the Organization later than most in my age bracket, so I didn't grow up with this smurf thing. If one totally absurd rumor could describe the Witnesses (at least in America) it would be the idea that a demonic smurf came to life in the kingdom hall. I wonder if anybody offered it a Bible Study?

I feel like this...

Teaching other people about God and his son is the most important thing we can do for somebody? I've never been big on magazine placement in the door to door ministry. It's my personal opinion that the JW ministry is designed to only allow a few believers to trickle in here and there. We go to the territory, find maybe one person (or none) and gradually groom them to come to the kingdom hall. Our new prospects are hand picked. We don't even advertise the weeks talk on the sign out front of the building!

First Day Here

Today marks the first day of my brank new blog. Many may wonder why I would spend my time with such a "worthless" hobby. My answer is that at this point in my life I have yet to talk about my personal feelings about my religion without the fear of having my family ripped to pieces. This is my creative channel, a fun thing i thought I might try as a way to add a little humor to the subject. I must add that I nothing I do here must be taken very seriously. Personally I feel that we must rely on God and his son. Human organizations come and go, but God remains forever. I hope you enjoy my blog. You can email me any time. -drew
